Glen Kamara has insisted Rangers is the best place for him to develop his game, but admitted he would be prepared to move to England or a top club in Europe.
And he reckons expectation levels are so high that if Rangers played European champions Real Madrid, they would be expected to win!
The Finnish international enjoyed an excellent season for the Ibrox side as they reached the Europa League Final and also won the Scottish Cup a few days later.
Kamara, 26, has been consistently linked with a return to English football after starting his career at Arsenal and former boss Steven Gerrard has been credited with an interest at Aston Villa.
And the midfielder - in an interview with 84-times capped midfielder Tim Sparv on Finland's national broadcaster YLE - has spoken about his time at Rangers and his future.
He said: "When I played against Rangers at first, I thought the level was good, but I wanted to go to England because the level is even better.
"But when I came to Rangers, I realised that the level is really high and that this is the best place to develop.
"I would never say that I wouldn't go and play elsewhere in Europe. I would like to play in the Premier League, but if there was somewhere else that would be good for me, I would go there.
"A lot of my friends have come to Rangers to watch the games. They say they've been to Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool or Everton, but you can't get this atmosphere anywhere else.
"If we win, we can go anywhere, but if we lose, we should probably stay at home.
"At this club, you have to win every match against anyone. If we were playing Real Madrid, the fans would say come on, you have to win. It's pretty cool.
"The first reason I came here was because of manager Steven Gerrard. Everyone knows him as a player. I told my mates back then that I would never sign for Celtic or Rangers because I wanted to go back to London or England.
"But when Gerrard called, I got the feeling that this is the place for me.
"I've never been a player who talks a lot on the field. I’d rather just try my best with and without the ball. I try to do stuff on the field and hopefully I can do good stuff.
"I always want a ball. That is one of my strengths."
