Glen Kamara on Rangers 'borderline' as pundit Alan Hutton offers verdict on Ibrox future

Glen Kamara is right on the borderline at Rangers.

That's the verdict of pundit and former Light Blues star Alan Hutton who believes the midfielder could stay at Ibrox but at the same time there is a 'massive chance' that he would be part of the summer exit list as Michael Beale continues his overhaul this summer.

The end of the campaign brought five exits in the shape of Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent, Allan McGregor, Scott Arfield and Filip Helander after opting against offering fresh terms to the quintet while three new arrivals have already arrived through the door. Kieran Dowell and Dujon Sterling have penned pre-contracts with new No1 Jack Butland joining the duo in signing a long-term deal in a coup for the Ibrox side.

A number of other players including a new No9 are expected to arrive this summer while Beale will also look to move on some of his fringe men. He has openly spoken out about Kamara and his future stating it will either be a case of he is around for the considerable future or he will be sold in the summer window.

Hutton told Football Insider : “He has definitely fallen down the pecking order.

“This is a player that Michael Beale really likes, especially from his previous time as well.

“I think he has got a lot to offer but he has not been at his best. But you can put that down to the fact that he has not had the minutes he has probably needed to get there.

“He is probably another one that Michael Beale will want to give a pre-season to and see if he can get the best out of him. If not then he will look to move him on.

“But he is probably one right on the borderline. He could stay but there is massive chance that he could be leaving as well.”
