Manchester United fans have made their feelings clear after missing out on the signing of Cody Gakpo.
Liverpool this evening confirmed the arrival of the Dutch forward from PSV, agreeing a five-and-a-half-year deal to bring the 23-year-old to Anfield. This comes after weeks of speculation suggesting United were leading the race to recruit Gakpo, having parted ways with Cristiano Ronaldo before the start of the World Cup.
Now one attacker short in the final third of the pitch, the Red Devils have missed out on what seemed to be realistic transfer target to bolster their squad depth. A latest report by ESPN has claimed United did not submit an official bid for Gakpo due to financial restraints, on the back of a summer outlay which surpassed the £200million mark.
