Glastonbury Festival 2022: First excited arrivals as Worthy Farm finally reopens after three years

Glastonbury Festival is finally back in action after a three year delay and hoards of lucky ticket holders have already descended on Worthy Farm.

The festival is a phenomenally popular music event, with global acts venturing to the Somerset countryside to entertain the masses. It boasts a capacity of more than 200,000.

As with many big events, the famed music festival was cancelled during the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic. Now, it's back with a bang to celebrate its 50th year, with the gates to the Worthy Farm site opening today, Wednesday, June 22.

Those who managed to bag an elusive ticket to the hotly-anticipated are already making the most of today's weather, basking in the sunshine ahead of entertainment from titans of the music industry. Laden down with bags, spirits at Worthy Farm are high with countless people keen to make the most of the event.

Stars set to perform include legendary former Beatle Paul McCartney, Led Zeppelin alum Robert Plant with country star Alison Krauss, 20-year old chart topper Billie Eilish, and many more. Though Glastonbury is a haven for music-lovers, there's also plenty of other things to see and do.

There's parties, silent disco screenings, stunt performers, fortune telling, traditional Punch and Judy shows, bingo, vintage arcade games, comedy, rides and more. There's also a variety of food and drink stalls to peruse and purchase from.
