Glastonbury delight for Maisie Peters as fan returns her witch's broom

Singer-songwriter Maisie Peters had an unexpected surprise at Glastonbury when a fan returned a witch's broom from a previous performance. Taking to the iconic Pyramid Stage at Worth Farm, Somerset on Friday, the 23-year-old artist marked the release of her second album, The Good Witch.

During an interview with the BBC, Peters shared the story behind the broom, saying, "I did a gig earlier this week in Kingston (at Pryzm) and I asked everyone: 'If anyone is going to Glastonbury'. And when a girl [came] and said: 'She is', I gave her a broom. And (I said) 'Try and get this back to me. Just try'. And she did... What a legend."

Playfully, Peters joked that the fan must have flown on the broom all the way from Kingston upon Thames in southwest London. Reflecting on her first-time performance on the Pyramid Stage, the singer described it as "crazy" and said it happened in the blink of an eye.

When asked about the advice she received from former Glastonbury headliner Ed Sheeran, as she is signed to his label, Gingerbread Man Records, Peters replied, "I didn't get any Glasto advice today, but I guess we'll just save it for when I headline the Pyramid Stage."

Peters said she was most looking forward to watching performances by American singer Lizzo, rock band Arctic Monkeys, as well as Sir Elton John's set on Sunday. Peters' debut studio album, You Signed Up For This, reached number two on the UK charts, adding to her growing success in the music industry.

The Glastonbury Festival is currently taking place at Worthy Farm in Somerset, running from June 21 to 25.
