As assuredly as the earth goes round the sun, Glastonbury Festival will once again return to Worthy Farm in 2027 - with more than 200,000 people expected to attend the five-day event.
But getting your hands on a ticket is notoriously difficult, with well over a million would-be revellers entering ballots each year to get hold of them.
Bookmakers have estimated the probability of securing a Glastonbury ticket at just 8.4 per cent, meaning hopeful festivalgoers will need to be prepared when tickets go on sale.
Coach and ticket packages will go on sale at 6pm on Thursday, October 1, while general admission tickets will be released at 9am on Sunday, October 4.
Registration for the 2027 festival has now closed, and you must already have a valid registration to buy a ticket.
So, if you're hoping to make it to Worthy Farm next summer, here are 10 tips to give yourself the best possible chance of getting Glastonbury tickets.
1. Get your group together
Tickets can be booked for up to six people in one transaction, so getting a group of six together can give you more opportunities to secure tickets.
Create a group chat well before the sale and make sure everyone has their details ready.
You'll need each person's full name, postcode and registration number, so consider putting everything into a shared spreadsheet.
You could even arrange a group video call for the morning of the sale to make sure everyone is online and ready.
2. Make sure everyone is online ahead of the sale
Everyone in your group should be on the ticketing website before tickets go on sale.
The queue is automatically allocated, so anyone joining after the sale has started will be placed into the queue later.
Get everyone into the waiting room before the advertised sale time and keep the page open.
3. Stick to one device and one tab
It might seem logical to use multiple phones, laptops or browser tabs to increase your chances, but this can cause problems.
Using multiple devices or tabs can trigger the ticketing system's security measures and potentially result in you being removed from the queue.
One device and one browser tab per person is the safer approach.
4. Only use the official website
Glastonbury tickets are only officially sold through See Tickets.
The official ticketing website is glastonbury.seetickets.com.
Do not buy tickets through resale sites, social media or other third-party platforms.
5. Have everyone's registration details ready
If one person gets through the queue, they will need the registration details for everyone they are buying tickets for.
Tickets are strictly non-transferable, and the email confirmation contains the registration number needed to complete the booking.
Double-check every person's details before the sale begins.
6. Have £600 ready
A £100 deposit is required per person, so a group of six will need enough available funds to cover a £600 deposit.
Make sure the card being used has sufficient funds and consider having a second payment card ready as a back-up.
It's also worth having your banking app nearby in case you need to authenticate the payment.
7. Don't share your registration details with multiple groups
This is a big Glastonbury no-no.
If you're part of several groups and give your registration details to more than one person, you could create problems if another group gets through first.
Once your registration number has been used in an order, another group may be unable to use it to complete their booking.
Choose one trusted group and stick with it.
8. Don't panic if you're given a random place in the queue
When the sale opens, people in the waiting room are assigned a place in the queue.
This means getting onto the website early does not guarantee you'll be at the front.
If someone in your group gets through before tickets sell out, they should continue with the booking rather than everyone abandoning their own queue.
9. Have everything ready before you reach the front
Once you reach the booking page, you'll have a limited amount of time to enter the registration details and complete payment.
Have everyone's information ready beforehand rather than searching through messages while the clock is ticking.
Make sure your card details and billing information are also readily available.
10. Don't refresh unnecessarily
If you've made it through the queue, resist the temptation to refresh the page.
Tickets are not fully allocated until the booking process has been completed, so don't assume that reaching the booking page means your tickets are guaranteed.
If the website specifically tells you that ‘all available tickets have now been allocated’, however, refreshing may cause tickets to be released back into the system if other orders have not been completed.
Above all, stay calm, check the details carefully and make sure everyone in your group knows exactly what they are doing before the sale begins.
And if you miss out in October, all is not necessarily lost. A resale is expected in April, giving registered festival-goers another opportunity to secure tickets.
