Glastonbury – the biggest party in the UK – is gearing up for another year.
Despite being nine months away, the festival has already released the date for its ticket sales – music to the ears of the estimated 2 million people who’ll be trying to get one for themselves.
For good reason. Glastonbury has been on the go since 1970, and today it’s one of the biggest festivals in the world, drawing in hundreds of thousands of visitors as well as artists including Coldplay, Elton John and Dua Lipa (all of whom have recently headlined).
Here’s what to know about 2025.
When do tickets go on sale?
On October 10, Glastonbury announced on social media that “Glastonbury Festival 2025 tickets will go on sale on Thursday, November 14 (coach + ticket packages), and Sunday, November 17 (standard tickets).”
Coach tickets, which go on sale first, offer revellers the chance to book bus transport plus tickets to the festival in one go, while standard tickets just offer access to the festival.
Tickets will only be available through SeeTickets, and this year will cost £373.50 for a full ticket, with a £5 booking fee – and a £75 deposit (the rest can be paid off in April).
It’s also worth noting that anybody hoping to buy tickets on the day itself will need to be registered on the Glastonbury website in advance, which means uploading a photograph of your face, and getting a registration number that can be used to book tickets. Register here, but be warned: it closes at 5pm on November 11.
When is Glastonbury 2025?
Next year, Glastonbury will be held between June 25 and 29. It always starts on a Wednesday and finishes on a Sunday.
Who is headlining?
Currently, we don’t know: the festival usually announces its line-up in March, a few months before the festival kicks off in June. However, we already know that it’s very unlikely Oasis will be attending. Despite the rumours, the band took to social media in August to confirm that their much-anticipated reunion world tour would not include the festival.
Check back here for more information as and when we have it.
How many people attend each year?
Last year, around 210,000 people attended, approximately the same as the 2023 event. The largest number of visitors is thought to have been in 1994 when around 300,000 people attended – many of whom were gate-crashers.
Where is it?
Each year, the festival is held at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset: the home of the Eavis family, who founded it. It’s a 900-acre site, the equivalent of 500 football pitches in size.
