After an incredible Glastonbury Festival many are nursing hangovers but even more are desperate to get involved next year.
There were some truly iconic moments with Kendrick Lemar and Paul McCartney delivering stellar performances. The event felt extra special in 2022 given the lengthy absence of music-lovers from Worthy Farm. However, given the extreme demand, tickets are consistently difficult to come by, and you have to be fully prepared to grab them.
A lengthy time has passed since many people were last able to purchase tickets, due to the majority of this year’s tickets being sold in 2019 and then carried over thanks to the curtailments. After going on sale, they sold out in just half an hour, leaving more than two million hopefuls disappointed, despite 200,000 lucky people managing to grab a spot.

When tickets open up for Glastonbury 2023, a similar situation is likely to arise, with many people not even managing to get onto the website due to the sheer amount of traffic. Here is everything you need to know to best ensure you don’t miss out on a place at one of the UK’s biggest festivals.
Is Glastonbury Festival definitely happening in 2023?
People may naturally be concerned about assurances over whether the festival will take place next year after the recent unforeseen hiatus. However, barring any unexpected dramas, Glastonbury 2023 is most certainly on the cards.
Every five years, the festival does have a fallow year to prevent the site getting damaged. Under normal circumstances, that could have been the case for next year as the last instance of this was in 2018, but due to two cancellations, the next one is likely to be in 2027.
Organiser Michael Eavis has even revealed that the headliners have already been booked for the next two years, albeit not revealing any specific names.
How to register for Glastonbury 2023 tickets?
Before tickets officially go on sale, you will need to register in order to qualify. This can be done at any point in the build-up to the day the tickets go on sale.
To register, you need to upload a picture of yourself to the official Glastonbury website. Photographs are required in a bid to prevent touting, as if someone is caught re-selling their ticket, their order will be cancelled.
How to get tickets for Glastonbury 2023?
Once registration has been completed, the wait can commence for the tickets to go on sale. Anyone aged 13 or over must have their own valid registration number ready to be utilised, and should an entire group of people wish to attend, every member must be registered.
When do Glastonbury 2023 tickets go on sale?
No set date has been given for when tickets will be put on sale. Traditionally, the first ones go on sale in early October, around seven months before the festival itself.
There is also normally a resale, allowing the opportunity for others to grab tickets, which took place in March this year. You are advised to have multiple devices loaded with the virtual queue to give yourself the best chance of not missing out, as the site can often be unreliable due to high demand.
Somerset residents were previously given the opportunity to get their hands on tickets ahead of the rest of the country in 2019, via a £50 deposit per ticket.
