Glass Particles Trigger a Nationwide Recall of an Arthritis Infusion Drug Given in Clinics and Hospitals

A nationwide recall of an arthritis infusion drug has been issued after the manufacturer found glass particles in the vials. Because the medication is administered in clinics and infusion centers rather than at home, the burden of responding falls almost entirely on health care providers.

Fresenius Kabi is recalling one lot of Tyenne, a tocilizumab-aazg injection supplied in 400 mg/20 mL vials, to the user level. The company said an internal investigation found the product contained glass particles. The announcement is dated August 10, 2026, and the FDA posted it the following day.
