Glass artist Peter Layton has described his Austrian-Jewish family’s escape from Nazi persecution before the Second World War as a "total miracle".
The 89-year-old, a pivotal figure in the British studio glass movement, credits his parents, Edith and Freddy, with enabling his career by managing to flee to Bradford.
