Glasnevin community say goodbye to 'kindest' postman who gave local dogs treats

The Glasnevin community have said goodbye to a much-loved postman who was known for his ever present smile when delivering letters to locals.

Paul was a popular character in the area and always had time to stop for a chat with residents while on his route.

He was known for giving local dogs treats and for always being in good spirits.

Paul is set to start delivering on a different Dublin route, much to the disappointment of North Dubliners.

Glasenevin Heritage posted: "On behalf of all of the residents that Paul has served over the years, we'd like to wish him the very best on the new route.

"Thanks for all your years of dedicated work in Glasnevin."

Neighbours thanked Paul for all his hard work over the years.

One person said: "Paul will certainly be missed by everyone, but especially by those dogs that know he gives out treats. Thanks Paul."

Another wrote: "My dad will be upset!! We all are very fond of Paul on Botanic Road."

A third person commented: "The nicest, kindest most decent person. Paul is going to be missed so much on this beat. Best of luck and thanks for everything since 2008. Rocky will miss his morning treats."
