A Glasgow restaurant is celebrating success after finding itself on the shortlist for the inaugural Uber Eats UK and Ireland Restaurant of the Year awards.
Asian eatery Yippon featured as one of ten Scottish nominees, with diners voting to deem it the best sushi spot in Scotland. Found at the University of Strathclyde, the George Street eatery, which makes all its food fresh every day, has built quite the loyal following among students and city centre workers.
The restaurant could go on to be crowned one of the best in the UK - customers can now view the shortlist and vote for their favourite restaurants from across the UK and Ireland from until 16 June at ubereatsawards.com.

The top restaurant from each region will then be invited to take part in a judging day, where their food will be tasted by the panel of judges, including Prue Leith, restaurateur and TV host, and Rachel Ama, vegan chef.
And a quick glance over the glowing reviews of Yippon left on the likes of TripAdvisor and Google show just why this 'hidden gem' can be considered the best place for sushi in the whole of Scotland.
One recent review said: "Only one word I would use: 'excellent'. Customer service is outstanding. The staff are very friendly and know their business. In terms of food, everything we had was fantastic. Excellent experience. Highly recommended."
Another added: "Had lunch here today for the first time. I would highly recommend to anyone to try as the food was very tasty, fresh and yet again, delicious! the staff was friendly and the service was spot on."
One customer hailed Yippon as having 'the best sushi in town', while adding they have an extensive menu outside of sushi, including many other Asian culinary delights.
They said: "Yippon is my favourite place for sushi in Glasgow and is my go-to place for ordering sushi to takeaway! Always tastes fresh and there are many delicious options to choose from.
"We have also tried chicken wings and noodles from Yippon which were both excellent and the noodles came in a surprisingly big portion."
A number of vegan eaters have also been full of praise for the meat-free options. One customer commented: "First time visiting Yippon today and I’m so impressed.
"Amazing food, great vegan/veggie options, everything tastes fresh and the portions are big. Staff are very friendly and the service is great! The salt and chilli tofu is delicious."
And one review echoed the thoughts of many, adding that the food 'tastes as good as it looks', by saying: "On my way home from work, I thought I would try this place as I could smell the food from outside. I was not dissatisfied. Food and staff 10 out of 10! Amazing hidden little gem."
Other Glasgow restaurants to have made Uber Eats best in Scotland shortlist included, Bread Meets Bread, Buck's Bar Crazy Wok, Mother India and Julie's Kopitiam.
