SCOTRAIL services in Glasgow have been cancelled, with lines closed after a person was hit by a train.
The train operator confirmed that all lines between Pollokshields East and Mount Florida were closed on Sunday at around 4.20pm following reports of a person being struck by a train.
It is understood emergency services were seen at Queen's Park station amid the incident.
Services to Neilton and New Lanark via Queen's Park were also affected due to the incident, with disruption on the lines expected until 6pm.
In a statement on social media, ScotRail said: “Due to an incident between Pollokshields East and Mount Florida all lines are closed. We are working closely with the emergency services during this time.”
The train operator's website confirmed that a person had been hit by a train.
In an updated statement, a ScotRail spokesperson said: “The emergency services have declared it safe to run our trains again.
“Disruption to services may still be ongoing until our staff and trains are back in position.”
It comes after ScotRail cancelled train services from Edinburgh Waverley on Sunday afternoon following a fault with the signalling system.
Some services travelling from Waverley were revised as a result of the fault between the station and Haymarket, which was detected at around 2pm on Sunday.
ScotRail confirmed that a replacement bus service was in place at Haymarket, Edinburgh Park, Linlithgow and Bathgate.
A spokesperson said in a statement at the time: “Due to a fault with the signalling system between Haymarket and Edinburgh some services are revised.
“Network Rail are on route to fix the fault fix. Please use our app during this time for journey info.”
