A second Glasgow school had to be evacuated over a hoax bomb threat.
St Thomas Aquinas Secondary in Broomhill were forced to evacuate pupils after the malicious and threatening phone call was made around 11.50am on Thursday morning.
It was the second call of its kind to be made this week after a similar incident at nearby Corpus Christi Primary School also triggered an evacuation.
Specialist officers attended the incident on Mitre Road after the call was made at around 11.50am.
It's understood that the evacuation disrupted the last five minutes of a Nat 5 English exam.
A search was carried out in conjunction with Glasgow City Council and pupils were allowed to return to school in the afternoon.
Anyone sitting the exam was allowed extra time to finish when they returned
Police are now investigating the malicious call.
A spokeswoman said: “Officers were called to an incident, believed to be a malicious call made to St Thomas Aquinas School, Mitre Road, Glasgow around 11.50am on Thursday, May 12, 2022.
“A search is being carried out in conjunction with the local authority.
“Enquiries are ongoing to locate whoever is responsible.
“Police Scotland take hoax calls extremely seriously. They divert police resources and cause disruption and alarm to the public. Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 .”
A council spokeswoman said: “All pupils and staff are safe and the school followed the correct procedures and called police to attend straight away.
