Glasgow teen with Down's Syndrome 'failed by the system' say worried family as support runs out

The parents of a teenage boy with Down's Syndrome say he is being 'failed by the system' after being left with no support since finishing school over a month ago.

Kyle and Gillian McCormick, from Knightswood, fear their son Mikey will become reclusive and regress in his social ability while waiting for a support package to be set up by social services. The couple is also facing the prospect of having to put him into supported living earlier than planned as they struggle to cope on their own.

Mickey, who is currently 17, was born with Down's Syndrome and is under the full-time care of his parents.
