The team behind a popular wine bar and cafe in the southside has offered an emotional thank you to customers and the local community after closing their doors for the final time.
Sinclairs in Battlefield has gathered a large following since opening on Sinclair Drive in April 2021, however, the current cost of living crisis and problems with flooding over Christmas led them to take the "extremely difficult" decision to close.
And taking to their official Facebook page, they offered a heartfelt message: "And that’s that. It’s been an absolute blast! We came to make some banging brunch, sexy sandwiches and great coffee! New friendships were forged and we had a proper laugh along the way. But all good things and aw that.
"Just wanted to say thank you first of all to the amazing people that made up the team at Sinclairs, past and present. It’s difficult to sum up and express how fantastic you all are, but the good thing is we don’t need to, as the punters already know! You are all the heart of this wee cafe."

The post from the staff also thanked founders Nicole and Andy, describing them as "amazing, caring people to work for", as well as giving a special mention to suppliers such as Freedom Bakery, Seasonal Produce, James Campbell Butchers, Rocco Espresso and Harvey and Brockless.
They added: "And an additional thank you to Cafe Strange Brew, E-Street Café and the Big Bear Bakery, who’s kind words and support meant so much to us all. You guys are where we go when we’re not here and you’re all awesome.
"And finally, a thank you to the people of Battlefield, who made us a part of the community. We’ll miss your faces, your furry pals and your chat! We can’t say more other than, for us, it’s simply the best place to be on the South side.
"So thank you again, everyone, loved every minute, and we’ll see you around. Much love from the Sinclairs team."
Devastated fans flocked to say farewell and thank them, with many posting that it was a "huge loss" to the area.
One posted: "Such a shame. Hope you get to do it all again in the future. You really transformed the space and invested on making it a popular venue for your customers."
While another added: "So sad that you are closed. Sinclairs Battlefield was a cosy wee nook at the bottom of our street. Fabulous food and fabulous staff who always had a warm welcome. You will all be missed."
