If you are looking to keep the kids entertained this festive season, there are plenty of things to do in and around Glasgow.
Just recently it was announced that the Glasgow Distillery’s pop-up shop will make a return in time for Christmas, occupying a space in Glasgow’s Princes Square.
After the success of it’s temporary retail space in Buchannan Galleries last Christmas, the new pop-up will be open 10am to 6pm seven days a week, staffed by the distillery’s spirit experts to help customers choose the perfect festive gift for loved ones.

Opening in Princes Square on Friday (October 7), the pop up is set to remain open until December 30 hosting favourites from the distillery’s portfolio, including Makar Gin, Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Whisky, Banditti Club Rum, G52 Botanical Vodka and Malt Riot Blended Malt - as well as limited bottlings from its new Glasgow 1770 Small Batch Series and it’s popular Glasgow 1770 Christmas crackers.
And in addition to this, dates have also been announced for their Christmas light switch on and Elf School.
With this in mind, when is it, how can you get tickets and what can you expect? Here's what you need to know.
Glasgow's Princes Square Elf School
Returning for 2022, Elf School is coming back after a sell-out success last year. Now children aged four to 10 can head to Princes Square to learn the tricks of the Christmas trade for two hours of fun crafts, games, creativity and music.
Not only this, but after having a few hours of fun, the little ones will then graduate as real Christmas elves with Santa also set to meet them there.
During this time, parents and carers can leave their children at Elf School while they relax in a Princes Square restaurant or pick up some gifts.
A number of sessions for the highly-anticipated festive event take place between November 20 until December 24 and due to popular demand, they are also offering two sensory-friendly sessions which are suitable for children with additional support needs.
They will take place on the following dates:
- November 27 (Sunday) 11am until 1pm
- December 3 (Saturday) 11am until 1pm
These accessible sessions feature a smaller class size (eight little elves instead of 12), quieter sessions with no loud music, a visual timetable showing the activities the elves will take part in so the children clearly know what’s coming next, and the option for parents/guardians to remain for part or all of the session.
