The Kingston Bridge is set for 10 weeks of closures from tomorrow night, Monday September 5.
The move has been made to facilitate copes and parapets replacement works.
Meanwhile, lanes for daytime traffic will be narrowed while work is carried out in daylight hours.

The repair work is due to start at 10pm tomorrow, on the eastbound side of the bridge.
Replacing the copes and the parapets on the westbound side is due to begin on Sunday, October 30. There will be a similar narrowing of traffic on the bridge at this time while work continues during the day.
The repair work is being carried out by Balfour Beatty on behalf of the Department for Transport, who maintain that the closures are necessary to ensure that the existing copes and parapets can be demolished and removed safely. Closing traffic on the road will also allow the delivery of materials to take place to the construction site.
The noise levels at Kingston Bridge will be monitored for one week before work commences so that a baseline of noise can be established. The amount of noise generated by the repair works will be monitored during their operation to make sure that they comply with regulations but some amount of disruption may still occur.
The work scheduled to take place is weather dependent and so may be cancelled or rescheduled at short notice if conditions are not right. The closing of the bridge may also be rescheduled where there is a local event taking place that may cause significant disruption.
The Kingston Bridge will still be open to access for emergency services at all times during the work on its upkeep. The entire project is scheduled for completion by February next year.
