A popular bar and restaurant in the city centre has become the latest to replicate its entire a la carte menu with a full plant-based version.
The team behind August House on Mitchell Street say they want to offer meat and dairy-free dining that "doesn't compromise on taste".
The stylish venue, known for its Instagramable decor and top tipples, will now be serving up the likes of Not Chicken Curry Spring Roll, Fried Vegan Gyoza, Smashed Vegan Burger with haggis and pepper sauce and The Basic Cock - southern fried not chicken, hash browns with vegan mayo.
Speaking about the menu, General Manager at August House, Callum Young, said: “With more and more people looking for meat and dairy-free dining without compromising on taste, we’ve created a full new menu offering a meat and dairy-free alternative for every dish.

"We want to make sure guests with dietary requirements are not missing out on the full culinary experience or having to make do with only one or two token dishes to choose from.”
Executive chef, John Molloy, who helped to create the menu, added: “We did a lot of research into how we could recreate our original offering and have managed to source some amazing meat and dairy alternatives.
"Our vegan cheese is a real game changer for our ‘cheese’ and crispy onion-loaded sweet potato fries and every single burger on the menu has been replicated to give the same great taste, texture and flavour as our beef and chicken burgers.”
