A bakery just for dogs is set to open at a Glasgow shopping centre.
The Barkery will open its very first kiosk in the city at Braehead shopping centre on Monday, February 8.
Selling treats for you favourite four-legged friends, The Barkery promises to serve up everything from woofnuts – dog doughnuts in 15 varieties – doggy waffles and biscuits.
All the products are wheat free, grain free, gulten free and meat free.
The Glasgow kiosk is the company’s eighth location in the UK and the first in Scotland - with owners Arran and Liam Giles leading the way when it comes to baked doggy treats.
Arran promised the brand will become “the Krispy Kreme of the dog world” and said he can’t wait to spoil Glasgow dogs and their owners.
He told Glasgow Live: “The idea came from myself and my partner owning three French bulldogs and not being able to get treats for them due to their allergies and intolerances.
“Liam and myself scoured the market for ages and couldn’t find any great alternatives so we made them. We opened a dog cafe called Frenchie Frenchie in 2019.
"During the lockdowns we decided to try and venture into retail with our BARKERY’S and haven’t looked back since. The stores have grown and grown and in less than a year we’re opening our eighth one.”
Arran and Liam have hired three new members of staff to join their team at Braehead - and so far they are having a ball.
“The feedback already has been insane and Glasgow has our strongest performing social reaction ever to a store opening!” Arran said.
“We’re super excited and we can’t wait to open.”
