Glasgow's answer to DJ school is back after a three-year hiatus.
Soma Skool will return this September with Glasgow-based label, Soma Records. The annual, electronic music education event had to take a back seat amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
SWG3 will host Scotland’s biggest and best electronic music conference with industry heavy-weights from all spectrums of the scene; from DJs and producers to label heads and journalists. All will gather to share knowledge and their love of electronic music.
This year’s panels include Underground Glasgow, discussing the beauty - as well as the challenges - of Glasgow’s own underground scene; an Accessible Clubbing panel on how clubbing can be made more accessible to people with disabilities and an Artists Panel which will invite some of the worlds biggest techno artists to discuss what catalysed their own success.

Rosie Shannon, Soma Skool Project Manager, said: “We are very happy to be bringing back soma skool with Creative Scotland, which for the first time in its 17-year history will be a virtual and physical event. During the pandemic there was record growth in people at home buying DJ and producer software and hardware, but a lack of physical education to learn.
"Soma Skool is here to help bridge that gap. This is a fantastic opportunity to get up close and personal with some of your favourite DJs and producers and learn from the best.
"At Soma records we look forward to putting this event on every year and seeing fresh talent come through because of it.”
Classes will also be on offer, including the Subsine Ableton Masterclasses; a range of demos from Pioneer DJ showcasing some of the best in mixing and technology; and industry talks spanning across mastering, artist agent seminars and music journalism workshops hosted by Resident Advisor. An after party will also be held in Glasgow's Pressure; Slam DJs’ legendary club night.
Tickets for the event are available here, and tickets for the afterparty can be booked separately, here.
