Glasgow Ryanair flight to Alicante declares emergency after take-off and diverts to Manchester

A flight from Glasgow Airport bound for Alicante had to divert amid a medical emergency not long after take off.

Ryanair flight FR2522 departed Glasgow at 8.47pm on Monday heading for the Spanish city, but was forced to divert to Manchester after around half an hour in the air.

The flight route on flight tracking website Flightradar24 shows the plane turning round in the Shropshire area of England before heading north to Manchester Airport.
