Glasgow roads shut for filming next week across three days - everything you need to know

Glasgow City Council (GCC) has confirmed a number of streets are set to close to allow filming to take place within the city.

According to the website, areas across the city will close next week over a period of three days at various points throughout the week.

Filming has just taken place in the west end of the city with those living on Gardner Street, situated in the Partick area of the city, being told a movie called Sebastian was being filmed.

It is unclear what is set to be filmed next week, however GCC has listed which roads are going to be closed and when we can expect this to happen. Here's what you need to know.

Glasgow road closures due to filming

Detailing the reason for the road closures, the local council has said it is to "facilitate a temporary restriction to allow filming to take place."

They add: "'vehicle' unless the context otherwise requires, means a vehicle of any description and includes a machine or implement of any kind drawn or propelled along roads whether or not by mechanical power;

'Emergency service vehicle' means a vehicle being used by the Police, Fire or Ambulance Services and includes blood transfer vehicles operated by the NHS.

"'Prohibition to vehicle movements' applying to all directions unless otherwise stated."

Which streets will be closed and until when?

From 11:00hrs on the April 19 2023 until 23:59hrs on the April 19 2023
Prohibition of vehicle movements

  • Oswald Street between Broomielaw and Argyle Street
  • Midland Street between Oswald Street and Jamaica Street (westbound permitted for egress from car parks)

From 15:00hrs on the April 20 2023 until 04:00hrs on the April 21 2023
Prohibition of vehicle movements

  • Tradeston Street between Kingston Street and Nelson Street

From 15:00hrs on the April 19 2023 until 04:00hrs on the April 21 2023
Prohibition of waiting, loading and unloading

  • Tradeston Street between Kingston Street and to a point 40m south of Nelson Street
  • Nelson Street, north side between Centre Street and West Street
