The team behind an exciting new restaurant in the south side is celebrating after being named a 'Highly Recommended' newcomer at a top awards event.
The Old Fruit Shop on Old Castle Road in Cathcart, opened at the tail end of last year, serving up locally sourced small plates in a historic setting.
With a brunch menu, evening meals and wine bar, the new addition to Cathcart was named for the building it is set within, which originally served as a fruit shop dating back to the ‘20s.

A delighted OFS team posted about the win at the 11th annual Scottish Entertainment and Hospitality Awards on their official Instagram page, writing: "What a week that was. Eight months in and we have been awarded highly recommended Scotlands best newcomer.
"No words can describe how grateful I am for the continuous support from you all… Friends, family, customers, suppliers and especially the family we have built at the Fruit Shop. As it wouldn’t have been possible without you.

Renovated over several months, the Old Fruit Shop kept much of its original features, impressing customers with its stylish interiors and exciting brunch menu.
