Glaswegians have been left gobsmacked due to strange - and ominous looking - cloud formations in the sky above the city this afternoon.
Residents across the city in places such as Busby, Anniesland, Partick, Pollok and the southside took to social media to share videos and pics of the clouds, which appeared to be golf-ball or pouch shaped.
One person tweeted: "These clouds look like they are painted!", while another wrote: "OK. WHO MESSED WITH THE CLOUDS?!"

They were joined by another Glaswegian who posted a short video of the sky above Glasgow on Twitter along with the caption: "Just some odd wee clouds kicking about Glasgow. The sky is incredible at the moment. So much going on. It's exciting."
While Glasgow-based business Wild Tree Adventures tweeted a pic along with the caption: "Dramatic skies with all the wild weather!"
The clouds are in fact mammatus clouds, which The Glossary of Meteorology defines as “hanging protuberances, like pouches, on the undersurface of a cloud”.
Website Learn Weather say the unusual clouds are "gentle downdrafts – sinking cool air – that form, evolve, and dissipate over a time span of about ten minutes to half an hour" and usually form amid thunderstorms.
One person familiar with the phenomenon tweeted a pic of the sky above the Kingston Bridge along with the caption: "Mammatus clouds over Glasgow, portent of calamitous weather."
