A petition has been launched calling for the introduction of a safe outdoor swimming area in Glasgow.
It comes as temperatures could hit record highs in Scotland today as the country looks set to continue sweltering in a heatwave - with the mercury set to reach 28C in Glasgow.
The petition has been started by River Clyde Environment Group, who organise litter picks along the Clyde and help report activities such as wildlife sightings and suspected pollution incidents, particularly in and around Glasgow city centre.

They are calling for the support of both Glasgow City Council and The Scottish Government for a safe wild swimming area - they have dubbed the 'River Clydo' - "in or near the River Clyde for Glaswegians and visitors alike".
The petition reads: "The River Clyde proudly flows through the heart of Glasgow. However, Glaswegians are now sadly fairly disconnected with the river. It is hoped that development along the Clyde may help to re-establish this relationship.
"We are calling for Glasgow City Council and The Scottish Government to support calls for the inclusion of a safe wild swimming area in or near the River Clyde for Glaswegians and visitors alike."
