Bosses at the OVO Hydro have responded to growing speculation online that the Glasgow venue could be set to host Eurovision next year.
While Ukraine would be invited to host the 2023 event, in light of the Russian invasion of the country, rumours have surfaced that the UK may be invited to host the contest having finished runner-up this year.
And that has led to Glasgow's name cropping up online across the continent as a potential host - after eagle-eyed Eurovision fans spotted a 'blacked-out' section of the OVO Hydro calendar for May 2023, the Scottish Daily Express reports.

It comes of course after the riverside venue hosted the glamour event in Netflix movie The Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga starring Will Ferrell - although they used a bit of Hollywood artistic licence to relocate it to Edinburgh.
Responding to the excitement brewing online at the thought of Scotland's biggest city potentially playing host to Eurovision in real life, the SEC poured water on the speculation.
A spokesperson for the SEC said: “The SEC is not currently involved in any Eurovision discussions, it’s purely fan speculation.”
Meanwhile Spanish broadcaster Radiotelevisión Española has offered to step in and host the forthcoming 67th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest next year should Ukraine not do so.
