There are many reasons why Glasgow is a great city. But did you know that one of them is that it is rated as one of the best places to live if a ‘zombie apocalypse' happens?
Researchers say Glasgow will fare well if Buchanan Street suddenly turns into a scene from Shaun Of The Dead .
In a survey by RantCasino.com, Glasgow was named one of the UK's safer cities to live in come Doomsday. Phew!
Researchers were on a mission to find the areas in the UK that would host the highest number of potential zombies compared to survivors. This was achieved by simulating a hypothetical zombie invasion in which the deceased are reanimated as the living dead. So we're talking pretty scientific stuff here.

During their extensive investigation, researchers compared the number of cemeteries and memorials in areas with the current population estimates. This would reveal the areas with the highest zombie threat, apparently.
The research was based on a sample of 369,240 globally geolocated cemeteries and memorials acquired from an established public database of cemetery records.
They said Glaswegians would need to contend with 75,842 potential zombies, with a zombie-to-population ratio of just 11%. Glasgow is home to 30 cemeteries, which researchers said helps matters.
So what about those cities that might struggle a little if they were to become flooded with flesh-eating monsters?
It's not looking good for Leeds which was ranked the city least likely to survive with a whopping 811,422 potential zombies predicted to hit the streets.

The English city has 149 cemeteries - bad news if you are looking to avoid the undead should a zombie apocalypse occur.
At number two, Manchester came in, with 769,911 potential zombies.
Third the worst for Liverpool, with the potential to host 469,768 zombies during doomsday, followed by Bath, with 297,409 potential zombies, in fourth place.
If you’re looking for the safest possible place to hunker down, then the Isles of Scilly in the southwest is your best best bet in the whole of the UK. You’ll only need to battle against 98 potential zombies shuffling the streets once you're there.
But, if you’re a Glasgow resident, in the event that the dead once again walk the Earth, you best board up your windows, find something pointy, and wait for it all to blow over. While the chances of such an event ever occurring are certainly slim to nil, there's no harm in being prepared…
