Glasgow has been named as the second most dangerous place to live in Scotland according to research investigating crime statistics.
Researchers from security company Churchill Support Services scoured over data from different local authorities with the highest crime rate per 10,000 people.
They used the latest available stats from the Scottish Government Statistics website, covering July 2021 through to June 2022, reports the Record.

It was found that Glasgow City had 1,228 crimes per 10,000 people.
The country's largest city had "the second highest rate of violent crime, and the highest figures on those prosecuted for drug-related offences and antisocial behaviour".
However, Dundee was named as the most dangerous place in Scotland, with 1,270 crimes per 10,000 people. It was revealed the city of discovery topped the list "by a wide margin", coming "first in violent crime, theft, and sexual assault".
Areas such as Perth and Kinross, North Lanarkshire, and Clackmannanshire all appear in the top 10 most dangerous areas, alongside both Aberdeen and Edinburgh.
Experts found that Scotland's crime rate has steadily been declining for the last 20 years, peaking between 2004 and 2005—when 511,834 crimes were reported over the course of the year.
The latest figures, between 2021 and 2022, shows that this has reduced to 286,464 reported crimes.
