Police are hunting for two masked men who broke into a property and attacked a man inside.
The 46-year-old man was inside the property on Middleton Street in the Cessnock area when two men gained entry around 1.20am on Tuesday, July 4.
The pair, who had their faces covered and were wearing dark clothing, assaulted the man and stole a laptop. The victim was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

The suspects were wearing dark hooded tops with the hoods up, one had dark trousers and the other grey trousers and both spoke with Glaswegian accents.
Police Constable Scott Kelly from the Community Investigation Unit at Helen Street Police Office said: “We are appealing to members of the public who may have seen anyone matching these descriptions around the time of this incident.
“I am also appealing to anyone who may have any other information which could assist us, including dash cam and private CCTV footage, to get in touch.
"Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 0193 of 4 July, 2023."
