A Glasgow makeup artist has said she was left 'absolutely devastated' after thieves stole £6,000 worth of equipment, making it impossible for her to work.
Claire Nisbet, a freelance makeup artist, had only recently returned from maternity leave when she had her entire kit stolen, including makeup, lighting equipment and brushes.
The 38-year-old, who is mum to five-month-old Nico-Ray, discovered that the items had been stolen from her car on Saturday (May 6) in the Woodlands area of the city.

She told Glasgow Live : "I’ve been a makeup artist for years. It’s taken me years to build up my kit until it was exactly how I wanted it - there’s things that just can’t be replaced.
"Ive got a wee one who is five months old and I took her out to the Science Centre on Tuesday. After I took her back, I was in the house on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. My partner went to get the kit from our car on Saturday. He realised it was missing then, so it was taken anytime from Wednesday to Saturday."
Claire said she only did one full day of work before her kit was stolen, forcing her to cancel several booked jobs.
"I spent all of Saturday bawling my eyes out," she said. "I was absolutely devastated - it’s your worst nightmare to have all your tools stolen and especially just after getting back from maternity leave. I'd had one job - a day of bridal trials - and then this happened.
"It literally had everything in it - one had my lighting, one had brushes and there was a full suitcase of makeup - all my foundation, everything. I’ve got literally nothing left.
"It’s every freelancer’s worst nightmare. I can’t work at the moment unless I borrow from another makeup artist, and I've still had to cancel some jobs."
Claire has set up a GoFundMe to try and recuperate some of the costs of her stolen hit, with around £2,000 raised so far.
She said: "To replace the full kit, it will probably £6,000. We’re on £2,000 at the moment so that will get me the basics, but to replace the full thing will be at least £6,000.
"It’s so scary - because I’ve been on maternity leave, and during covid I wasn’t able to work, we were just getting back on our feet.
"Luckily, everyone has been so lovely and supportive -it shows you how kind people are after something like this happens."
