The family of a beloved grandmother have condemned Glasgow hospital medics who failed to tell them about a do not resuscitate order and encouraged them to say their goodbyes.
Helen McErlane was taken into Glasgow Royal Infirmary in December last year to receive treatment for a kidney infection.
She was initially happy and chatty but just days after the new year doctors told the family that she had fallen into a deep sleep and may not wake up, the Scottish Daily Express reports.
