A Glasgow granny was in for a slithering shock when she opened the door to her back garden to see a "long and narrow" snake staring right at her.
Jean Campbell was putting biscuits out for her cockapoo, Poppy, on Tuesday afternoon when she noticed the 'exotic' creature coiled up on the steps.
It had frightened six-year-old Poppy who was too scared to walk past it and back into the house.

The 71-year-old used a stick to put the snake into a plastic box and called the SSPCA who came and escorted the snake off the premises.
Jean told Glasgow Live: "There was somebody delivering a cabinet for me and I have a very boisterous dog so in order to keep her out the way I had opened the back door and threw some biscuits out for her.
"The guys dropped off the cabinet and Poppy was barking to get in so I let her in but she wouldn't come over. I looked down and there was a snake on the steps which was stopping her from coming in.
"It was just sitting there doing not very much. It looked strange and as if it had fallen out of the sky because there was nobody there.
"I’ve never seen any sign of it before so it was a bit of a shock. It was shaking and I thought the poor thing was traumatised but I wasn’t going to pick it up with my hands."
Jean, who was once bitten by a grass snake, added: "It was long and narrow with a small head, maybe a couple of feet long.
"Poppy wouldn’t go anywhere near it. She’s not that brave as far as things like that are concerned, she steers well clear of it.
"It’s not the sort of thing you’d expect to find in your garden. It’s a lovely snake and the colours and markings were fabulous, it was very exotic.
"I thought it must’ve come from somewhere nearby. Hopefully it will get back home."
