Glasgow flight forced into emergency landing after 'fumes' detected on board

An aircraft, which took off from Glasgow Airport, issued a mid-air alert and was forced into an emergency landing earlier today.

The British Airways plane declared a 'Squawk 7700’ , which is used during a general crisis, shortly after crossing the border into England this morning.

It is believed that fumes had been detected on board according to social media account Flight Emergency.
