Glasgow five-year-old killed in bus crash horror named as police appeal for witnesses

A five-year-old boy killed in a Glasgow bus crash has been named by police.

Little Ayan Khan Nooreen was fatally injured and a nine-year-old girl rushed to hospital after they were hit by the single decker on Calder Street, Govanhill last Tuesday.

Despite the best efforts of emergency services at the scene he could not be saved and died a short time later. The tragedy unfolded at 5.40pm on April 4, near the Hickman Street junction and the police investigation into the circumstances is ongoing.

Sergeant Nick Twigg said: “Our thoughts are with Ayan’s family and everyone affected by this tragic incident.

“Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances remain ongoing and I would urge anyone who may have information but hasn’t yet spoken to us to come forward.

“In addition, if you have dash-cam that could help with our crash investigation then please contact us.”

Floral tributes and toys have laid in memory of Ayan at the gates of Holy Cross Primary School, near the scene of the crash.

One person wrote: "Fly with the angels, beautiful boy."

Another tribute read: "My deepest condolences during this tragic time for your family. You are in our thoughts and prayers."

Anyone with information that can help the police investigation should call 101.
