Sam Heughan, who rose to fame for his role in smash-hit Outlander, has asked fans to take foodbank donations to his Glasgow book signing this weekend.

The 42-year-old is set to appear at the Waterstones branch on Sauchiehall Street this Sunday, December 18, to sign copies of his new book Waypoint which details his rise to the silver screen, reports the Daily Express

The Scottish star is usually flooded with gifts from his loyal fanbase, however, publisher Radar Books have requested that the gifts are swapped for donations to help those in need this Christmas.
