Glasgow family serenaded by Robbie Williams as mum gets 'Norma's the One' dedicated to her

An unsuspecting mother and daughter duo were blown away after a surprise serenading during a Robbie Williams gig last week.

Norma Crossan and her daughter Nadia, 25, headed down to the OVO Hydro last Thursday ready to enjoy a night of performance from the singer. Little did they know, they’d end up being part of the show.

After catching the attention of Robbie while standing in the front row, the Crossan’s chatted to the former Take That band member who asked them their names and where they’re from. Later in the show, as a surprise to Norma, Robbie changed the lyrics of one of his well-loved songs to include his new friends.

Glasgow Live spoke to Norma after the gig, who told us about the special moment. She said: “It was a lovely thing that happened to me and my daughter Nadia at the Robbie Williams concert last Thursday at the Hydro. Robbie made us feel so special and dedicated a song to us.

“The gesture from him was incredible for my daughter Nadia and I, it was a dream come true. We were blown away by his performance throughout the concert but then to single us out, chat to us, ask our names, where we're from.

“Then he came back to us later in the show and serenade us with She’s The One and changed the lyrics to Norma’s The One - it was surreal. The joy and positive vibes he brought to the crowd, who cheered and sang with us will live with us forever.”

In videos the family captured, Robbie can be heard singing: “Norma, Norma, I’ve thought about you all evening. I can’t stand the fact that you’ll be leaving.

“Norma, Norma, you have a very beautiful daughter.”

He then goes on to ask Norma to look into his eyes, as he bursts into a revised version of his hit song She’s the One. While the family captured most of Robbie’s antics on video, they also told us the fun didn’t stop there.

“He gave me a t-shirt and song script as a souvenir. It doesn’t stop there, and hasn’t stopped since.

“Leaving the venue cars were honking, people were cheering us and calling out Norma’s the One. I’ve been inundated with lovely messages and comments from all over the world and also on the Robbie Williams fan page.

“It seems so surreal that this gesture from him has touched everyone and the ripple effect is incredible. It’s a dream come true.”
