Glasgow drivers are facing six weeks of roadwork hell in the new year.
Essential repairs to the sewage network means a busy section of High Street will close to traffic between its junctions with Duke Street and Rottenrow.
Scottish Water say diversions will be put in place via John Knox Street and Wishart Street and they will work to minimise disruption to the busy area of the city. Local businesses will remain open, as will pedestrian access.

The works follow underground CCTV investigations that show a void in the sewer running under High Street.
Georgina Reid from Scottish Water said: “We are now making our final preparations for this proactive work which allows us to take care of the waste water network in the area. We know this is a busy part of the city and we will therefore do all we can to minimise disruption where possible.
“We would like to thank road users, local residents and businesses in advance for their patience and understanding while these essential works are being carried out.”
