Glasgow Drag Race UK winner Lawrence Chaney among new stars in Colourboxx lineup

Colourboxx Festival has today announced that Scottish Drag Race royalty Lawrence Chaney will be joining The Vivienne and Tia Kofi in the newest line-up for its unmissable debut edition this June.

Since becoming the series’ only Scottish champion, Lawrence Chaney has gone on to become one of the biggest stars to come out of the show.

Last year, the Helensburgh native beat the likes of David Tennant and Martin Compston to win the Audience Award at the 2021 Scottish Baftas, as well as becoming “Fairy Godmaw” as the face of Irn Bru’s legendary Christmas campaign.

Joining Lawrence is winner of UK Drag Race series one: The Vivienne, the original UK champion.

The Vivienne is now an international star with her own BBC Three show 'The Vivienne Takes On Hollywood', as well as appearing on Celebrity Mastermind earlier this year, and a recent cameo in the critically acclaimed BBC drama ‘This Is Going To Hurt’.

Second series favourite Tia Kofi, who became renowned throughout her time in the show for high-energy performances, is also joining the line-up.

Tia, who holds residencies at some of London’s most iconic LGBTQIA+ clubs, also runs her own theatre group, writes her own music and performs her own choreography - a true triple threat!

Today’s announcement sees the three UK queens placed alongside some of the best live music, DJs, cabaret performances and more unmissable drag acts for the very first edition of Colourboxx Festival.

Platinum-selling Years & Years, fronted by Olly Alexander and now standing solo, will headline, alongside the Brit Award winning and chart dominating Becky Hill and Scottish soul-pop sensation Joesef. One of the most successful groups in British pop history, Sugababes, feature as Special Guests.

Also confirmed to perform are: Japanese-born British alternative pop superstar Rina Sawayama, DJ Icon and reigning Queen supreme over international nightlife Jodie Harsh; UK drag royalty Bimini; Broadway and West End star Marisha Wallace.

Glasgow’s number one inclusive and alternative queer party Shoot Your Shot will also be there, and you can grab tickets to the newest, hottest event here.

Colourboxx Festival will be held on Saturday June 25, 2022, at the famous Bellahouston Park.
