Glasgow dessert shop appears to close as signs for new venture appear in window

A prominently placed dessert shop in Shawlands appears to have closed and rebranded after signs appeared in the widows.

AFTRS on Pollokshaws Road, which sits across the road from Langside Hall at the cross, hasn't opened since around Christmas time and residents were curious to know what had become of the business.

Having become known for its coffee, ice cream, milkshakes and sweet treats like cinnamon buns and crepes, the firm now appears to have closed permanently after signs appeared in the window advertising a new venture.

It now has signs in the window that read: "The Deli by Urban West."

Though AFTRS have not confirmed anything on their social media, owner Giancarlo Dalsasso also owns Great Western Road's Urban West and it appears he is changing from their coffee shop model to a new Italian-style file for the southside.

First opened in September 2021, AFTRS promised a range of ice cream flavours such as nutella, kinder bueno and black vegan vanilla soft serves in black cones.
