Passengers had a lucky escape after a bus service they were travelling on burst into flames in Drumchapel.
The vehicle blaze concerned a 6A service which was heading along Linkwood Drive around 6:30pm last night.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service mobilised two appliances to the scene to extinguish the fire, and subsequently stood down around 7.55pm.
Dramatic footage from the scene shows flames spouting from behind the back of the double decker, reaching as high as the window of the upper deck, the Daily Record reports.
As the bus grinds to a halt, flames appear to shoot out almost horizontally as concerned bystanders are seen rushing towards the front of the vehicle, presumably to warn the driver.
Thankfully First Glasgow have confirmed that neither the driver nor the passengers on board the bus sustained any injuries.
Christopher Leyden, who filmed the incident, said he flagged down the vehicle as others rushed to the aid of the driver and passengers.
He told the Record: "I can’t believe that it actually happened in front of us. I think there was a few people [on board].
"The driver got a fright...I asked the driver if he was ok he looked in shock and distress at what had just happened.
"I’m just glad that I managed to stop the driver and no one was hurt and everyone was OK."
A spokesperson for First Glasgow said: "We can confirm that one of our buses operating on the Glasgow 6A service was damaged earlier today. No injuries were sustained.”
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We received a call to attend a bus fire on Linkwood Drive, Glasgow, at 6.35pm on April 6 2022. We mobilised two appliances to attend. The fire was extinguished and we stood down at 7.54pm."
