Glasgow bar delighted as Toadie from Neighbours pops in for a dram

Staff at one of Glasgow's most famous bars were delighted after Toadie from Neighbours popped by recently for a dram.

The iconic Aussie star, whose real name is Ryan Moloney, appeared to be more than happy to pose for a pic at the Pot Still after he was photographed holding one of the pub's whisky bottles in front of its incredible gantry.

Ryan made an unexpected appearance at the world-famous whisky bar on Hope Street at the weekend after popping in to grab a drink with friends and when chuffed staff recognised him, they were only too happy to have him come behind the bar for a quick photo.

And supervisor Chris Irons, who was on shift at the time, said the ever-popular Neighbours star was "lovely" and described him as a "genuinely nice guy" (we don't think we've ever been more jealous).

As well as posing for the pic, Chris said Ryan was keen to try several drams, including a whisky from one of the distilleries closest to Glasgow, Glengoyne.

According to Ryan, who joined the Neighbours as Jarrod Rebecchi (though he is better known as "Toadfish") in 1995 quickly becoming one of the longest-serving and most popular members of the cast, the stars were in the UK as part of the soap's Farewell Tour.

Thankfully, the soap, which has become legendary on British TV was recently saved by Amazon Freevee after fears it would be ending after 37 years last summer, so, the legendary Toadie will soon be back on our screens.

Fellow Neighbours legend, Alan Fletcher, who plays Dr Karl Kennedy is also set to be in town next month, as he heads to Glasgow for his own tour promoting his new album.
