Glasgow Airport visitor shows off "favourite door" as video goes viral

A traveller at Glasgow Airport has shared a video of their "fave door" at the airport on Twitter and it has since been viewed over 550,000 times.

Taking to the social media network, user Calum Macdonald posted the short clip as they arrived into Glasgow.

They wrote: "Flying from Glasgow Airport means I get the chance to use my fave door."

In the video, a closed door can be seen, before the user pans the camera away — revealing that travellers can simply walk around the door without having to pass through it. The tweet has since received over 14,500 likes and dozens of comments from fellow Twitter users.

One wrote: "I'm imagining an alternative reality if you walk through it rather than round it..."

"Love that door," a second shared, while a third commented: "I'd have to go through that, no sidestepping it."

"Seen many people go through it and expecting a different outcome," revealed a fourth.

A fifth joked: "Is this Scotland's doorway to Narnia?"

One Twitter user explained the purpose of the strange door, writing: "My odd claim to fame is I know exactly what these doors are for because I had to sit through an hour-long presentation explaining what to do with them."

They continued: "In the event of a fire, the open space next to these gets closed off by automatic shutters to contain the spread, while passengers evacuate that part of the terminal.

"These doors allow staff to move past the shutters for emergency purposes."
