Great news for aviation fans and avid planespotters in Glasgow...
Glasgow Airport is to welcome back Emirates' A380 superjumbo in a few months time.
The world's largest passenger plane has been absent in the skies above Glasgow while Emirates uses their Boeing 777-200LR plane for the Glasgow to Dubai route.
However, Glasgow Airport confirmed that the airline will operate the A380 on the route for the summer season.

One fan of the superjumbo tweeted" "Hey @emirates, will you ever be bringing back the A380 to Glasgow Airport. I'm finally getting married on our 3rd try after this pandemic and had to cancel our trip in 2020. Is there any hope?"
Glasgow Airport responded with: "The Emirates A380 will be returning to Glasgow for the summer season. Keep up to date with our website and social media pages for more information nearer the time."
The introduction by Emirates of the A380 to serve the route between Glasgow and Dubai back in 2019 sparked significant media attention, with Glasgow Airport spending millions of pounds on engineering works to be able to cope with the superjumbo.
