Glasgow Airport's cheapest flights for last minute holidays abroad

Travelling is something on the minds of many people at the moment with covid restrictions easing around the world.

Before lockdown airports were thriving, however, during this period and with international travel ground to a halt, it became a bit too quiet.

Thankfully, things are now picking up and families are packing their bags once again to head abroad - many for the first time in over two years.

And now with travel restrictions coming to an end in many popular tourist destinations - including the UK - people have taken to sites such as Skyscanner to find the best deals for last minute trips away.

Because of this, we took to the internet to see where we could fly to from Glasgow and to our surprise, there is some pretty good deals.

So if you're after a bargain and need a break from the not-so sunny weather here in Scotland, you can now book a flight to Poland from Glasgow Airport and it will come out cheaper than booking a train to Edinburgh.

According to Skyscanner, who find the best deals on the market, a flight from the city costs just £27 when flying with Ryanair.

If interested, holidaymakers can travel on a two and a half hour flight from Glasgow's International Airport to Warsaw Modlin Airport - however there is a stop in Dublin along the way.

This compares to a return journey from Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh Waverly for £36.40.

Other flights that are cheap and perfect for a last minute getaway, according to Kayak, is a flight from Glasgow to Malaga costing just £15 with Ryanair as well as a flight to Dublin for just £21.

Other popular tourist destinations this year seem to be the likes of Italy and Spain - all of which are going cheap and in addition to these bargains, Skyscanner found a flight from Glasgow Prestwick to Faro in Portugal for just £41.

To add a few more to the list, a flight with Jet2 and Ryanair will cost passengers just £63 both ways to head to sunny Palma whilst direct flights to Barcelona are currently going for just £39.

So rather than staying at home, why not venture out to a new destination - we know where we would rather be!
