GLASGOW Airport has increased their drop off and pick up prices for passengers.
Customers will now fork out £5 instead of £4 after bosses reviewed parking charges at the travel hub.
The charge surge was defended as the small pick-up window was also increased from 10 to 15 minutes.
A free 30-minute period in the Short Stay Car Park will remain in place for Blue Badge holders.
Glasgow cab company, Alpha Taxis, announced the price spike to their customers and immediately increased fares to cover the new charge.
They said: “Glasgow airport increased their pick-up and drop off charges.
“This has taken ourselves and many others by surprise, but we thought it best to alert everyone asap.
“As a result of this , we are now having to increase the charges on our own system.
“With IMMEDIATE effect the pick-up and drop off charge for Glasgow Airport has now increased from £4 for 10 mins to £5 for 15 mins.
“This charge will always show on our PDA in our vehicles and will be automatically added to the customers final fare.”
Furious customers reacted to the news on social media by criticizing Glasgow Airports decision.
Susan Cameron said: “Shocking, they are getting greedy.”
Linda Anderson said: “Daylight robbery right enough.”
Ruth Donaldson said: “Absolutely outrageous!”
Gladys Marchbank said: “I thought they were trying to promote new passengers instead of keeping them away!
A spokesman for AGS Airports, which owns and operates Glasgow Airport, said: “As part of an ongoing review of our parking charges, passengers using the dedicated pick-up and drop-off facility will now pay £5 for an increased time period of 15 minutes.
“A free 30-minute period in our Short Stay Car Park will remain in place for Blue Badge holders and we will also continue to offer a free 30-minute option at our Long-Stay Car Park, which we would encourage people to use.
“The funds generated through our parking services will continue to go directly towards re-establishing our connectivity and improving the airport’s facilities.”
