Give us your player ratings as Leeds United humiliated by Liverpool

Leeds United were condemned to another heavy defeat as they lost 6-1 against Liverpool at Elland Road.

The Whites followed their 5-1 humbling at the hands of Crystal Palace with another dismal showing against the Reds. They've conceded 11 goals in their last two games in the Premier League, and sit just two points clear of the relegation zone.

Liverpool opened the scoring in the 36th minute when Cody Gakpo was presented with a tap-in at the back post. The ball struck Trent Alexander-Arnold's arm in the build-up, before the right-back exchanged passes with Mohamed Salah, and squared for Gakpo to finish.

Craig Pawson and his officials controversially allowed the goal to stand, and VAR chose not to intervene and stuck with the on-field decision.

Things went from bad to worse for Leeds when Salah doubled their advantage three minutes later. Weston McKennie lost the ball inside the Liverpool half, and Diogo Jota sprinted half the length of the pitch to tee up the Egyptian international, who escaped the clutches of Pascal Struijk with ease.

Salah fired an unerring strike beyond Illan Meslier at his near post. Leeds responded immediately after the break when Luis Sinisterra pickpocketed Ibrahima Konate on the edge of the box to dink a delicate finish over the onrushing Alisson.

However, Liverpool quickly restored their two-goal advantage when Curtis Jones was gifted an abyss of space in the heart of midfield to slot the ball through to Jota.

The Portugal international kept his composure to apply a confident finish past Meslier, and score his first Liverpool goal in over a year.

Brenden Aaronson kissed the cheek of the post with a speculative effort from range, but Liverpool continued to tear Leeds' defence to shreds.

The Reds had a goal ruled out for a tight offside on the hour-mark following a clever free-kick routine by Alexander-Arnold. Van Dijk fractionally mistimed his run before crossing for Salah to convert from close range, and the on-field decision stood despite a lengthy VAR check.

Leeds continued to leave themselves completely open at the back with Rasmus Kristensen bombing forward to join the attack. Jack Harrison's attempted back heal was intercepted and Liverpool surged down the left, with Andrew Robertson darting beyond Robin Koch with a frightening turn of pace.

The Liverpool left-back found Gakpo on the edge of the box, who then fed an unmarked Salah on the right hand side of the box to slot his finish into the far bottom corner.

Liverpool added a fifth in the 73rd minute to compound Leeds' misery. Jordan Henderson clipped a cross to the edge of the box for Jota to crash a half volley beyond Meslier via the post.

Darwin Nunez then kept himself onside to score Liverpool's sixth at the death. Leeds have now conceded more goals than any other club (60) in the Premier League.
