Melbourne City coach Patrick Kisnorbo hopes all A-League Men clubs can be represented in Graham Arnold's squad for the World Cup and has pledged to do what he can to send his players off to Qatar in tip-top shape.
Mathew Leckie and Jamie Maclaren are both likely inclusions in the 26-man squad to be released on Tuesday and fellow City forward Marco Tilio is also a chance to be picked.
The squad is set to feature other players who have come through City's system, with the likes of Denis Genreau, Nathaniel Atkinson and Connor Metcalfe all pushing their own cases for selection.
While all three have since continued their careers overseas, Kisnorbo said he hoped to see current ALM players get the chance to represent their country on the biggest stage.
Adelaide United captain Craig Goodwin, Sydney FC goalkeeper and qualification hero Andrew Redmayne, Macarthur FC young gun Daniel Arzani and Central Coast striker Jason Cummings are among those in the frame.
"Hopefully there's representatives from all clubs," he said.
"Is that realistic? I don't know.
"At the end of the day, Graham will pick who he needs to pick but it's great as a whole, not just for us, that we have players in the A-League representing our national game, going to the biggest tournament in the world.
"We're happy that we can help the country and our club by having representatives in the Socceroos.
"Whoever gets chosen (from City) for next Tuesday, we can't control that, but we can definitely help their cause in terms of training them hard."
A member of Australia's squad at the Tokyo Olympics, Tilio is vying for the chance to make his World Cup debut.
Maclaren played alongside the 21-year-old in his Socceroos debut against Vietnam earlier this year and said earning national honours had brought out the best in his City teammate.
"With Marco, we've seen a different character now that he realises that his game can go to another level," he said.
"He understands his role in the team.
"Whether he's going to start or he's going to come off the bench, he needs to make an impact and he's done both."
If picked, Maclaren is aiming to capitalise on chemistry forged with current and previous City teammates.
"If you look at the Socceroos squad for the New Zealand (pre-World Cup friendlies), there was something like 10 to 12 players that had come through the City academy," he said.
"Having that connection is important."
