Good morning, and welcome to live coverage of stage seven of the Giro d'Italia, which is probably the first proper general classification day of the race so far. This live blog is part of our efforts to make the racing easier to follow now live coverage is now harder (see: more expensive) to watch in the UK. I'm Adam Becket, do email - [email protected] - if you have anything to add.
Today's stage from Castel di Sanro to Tagliacozzo sees the first summit finish of the race, as well as a lot of other climbing on the way. According to Procyclingstats, there are just four harder stages in the 21 days of the Giro, so it is very worth paying attention to. There are four classified climbs today, including the final climb, which is the first first category climb of the race, with 3,390m of climbing across 168.4km.
