A girl was taken to hospital after a car crashed into her.

The youngster was struck just after 3pm on Thursday afternoon on Kilmarnock's Western Road

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.20pm on Thursday, September 8, police were called to the Western Road area of Kilmarnock, following a report of a crash involving a car and a child pedestrian.
